The microswitch usually can break the current from 5mA/5VDC to 25A/250VAC. The microswitch product line offers a range of products ranging from low-energy to power-loaded electrical types for a wide range of applications. Engineers must know the rated current and voltage (AC or DC) required for detailed application to select the appropriate switch. Since all kinds of equipment in all industries are dedicated to low energy consumption, micro-switches must be able to operate at low current (logical level load) and DC voltage. However, there are also applications that require switching between high current and high voltage, such as industrial grade pump applications. In addition to load requirements, engineers must also select suitable circuits. Switch contacts must be one of the normally open type (NO) and normally closed type (NC). For NO type contacts, there is usually no current passing between contacts. When the switch is moved, the contacts are blocked and the circuit is connected. For NC type contacts, there is usually a current passing through the contacts. When the switch is taken, the contact is turned on and the circuit is disconnected.
The micro switch is a kind of fast switch which is actuated by pressure, also known as the sensitive switch. Its working principle is that the external mechanical force acts on the action spring through the transmission elements (pins, buttons, levers, rollers, etc.), and accumulates the energy to the critical point, then produces instantaneous action, so that the end of the action spring dynamic contact and the fixed contact can be quickly connected or disconnected. When the force on the drive element is removed, the action spring produces reverse action force. When the reverse stroke of the drive element reaches the action critical point of the spring, the reverse action is instantaneously completed. The micro switch has small contact distance, short action stroke, quick power and quick interruption. The moving speed of its moving contacts is independent of the speed of the transmission elements. The basic type of micro-switch is pin-press type. It can derive button short stroke, button large stroke, button extra-large stroke, roller button type, reed roller type, lever roller type, short arm type, long arm type and so on. Micro-switch is used in electronic equipment and other equipment for automatic control and safety protection of frequent switching circuit.
